EXAMINING THE BENEFITS & BALANCE IT TAKES TO BE YOUR OWN BOSS

Did you know that November is Entrepreneurship month!? As a serial entrepreneur myself, I salute all of you, my fellow entrepreneurs. I see how hard you work and the passion you have to make your dreams come true! To those dreamers who have ideas that have yet to come to fruition, I thought I’d share a little bit of my experience. First of all, I believe in you!
Here are my top 5 favorite things about being an entrepreneur:
1. Time Freedom
2. Control of my schedule
3. Creating a career that aligns with your values
4. Leadership experience
5. The privilege of working from anywhere
We are living in a wonderful time to become an entrepreneur! Did you know that more and more people are moving to freelance services and self-employment? With so much information at our fingertips, it’s entirely possible to learn all you need to know to build, grow and scale a business(es) without formal training. Also, with the holiday season quickly approaching – couldn’t we all use an extra stream of income!? Here are some more reasons to begin putting your dreams into action…
More Flexibility
One of the most common benefits that draws people toward entrepreneurship is the flexibility. Becoming your own boss opens up the opportunity to work on your own schedule and live / work from anywhere. You determine what your “work day” looks like, as well as who you work with and what kind of work you do.
Align Your Career with Your Values
Entrepreneurship can lead to a more fulfilling career as your passions progress from hobbies to money makers! Build a business centered around things that matter to you and allows for creative expression in a way that you love. When you truly care about your work, your business will excel. Also, as an entrepreneur you’ll have endless opportunity for growth. There is no ceiling for your success if you are the boss.
Experience Confidence & Pride
The confidence and pride you can feel when looking at a business you dreamed up, assembled and built up yourself is arguably unmatched. Pushing through the trials of entrepreneurship will help you prove to yourself that you are capable of more than you know. At minimum, you’ll learn how to be resourceful and make it work even when it feels impossible and how to be a leader.
Control of Your Income
Another confidence booster that comes along with becoming an entrepreneur is the ability to take the reins and be more in control of your income. When you work for yourself, YOU get to determine your hourly wage, the value of your time and how hard you are willing to work. Your income level will directly correlate to how much you are willing to do to make it happen. Did you know that most millionaires and successful people have MULTIPLE businesses and streams of income? They do not depend on one thing to support the life they are creating.
The Truth About Entrepreneurship
Here’s the thing, though… as many benefits as there are (and there are many!), the truth is that it’s also freakin’ HARD. In order to make it work, you need to be determined, committed, disciplined, passionate and consistent. The line between work life and home life often becomes very fine, blurred, or truthfully… non-existent. This is why it’s so important to set boundaries in your business and be certain that you are prioritizing your own health, wellbeing and self-care. You need to be nurtured as a person just as much as your business needs to be nurtured by you.
In my case, it certainly helps that the focus of my business actually IS self-care and wellness. Which is beneficial to me in more ways than one. I love being a part of a company who places the highest value on health and self-care in the same way I do. You see, I have not always put my wellness first in the way that I should. There were years when I neglected to care for my health in the way I should have, and I suffered both physically and mentally because of it. If you are also passionate about building a business of your own AND improving and prioritizing your wellbeing, I would love to share more about what I do with you!
If you are open to creating a life of freedom and have been thinking about starting your own business, I invite you to shoot me a message or email!
Cheers......
